Story: For years Samantha has wondered about where she came from. After inheriting a house from the family she never knew, Sam and three friends take a road trip to inspect the remote property. Soon after Sam arrives old memories come seeping back to her subconscious while jealousy and unspoken tension between the friends is forced to the surface. As relationships unravel, so does Sam's sanity. She soon finds herself unable to tell the difference between reality and the horrible visions of brutality she can't escape. I really enjoyed my watching of Sader Ridge. I feel it was a solidIndie Horror/Thriller (more of the latter, though) movie.
D'Angelo Midili playing the standoffish grounds keeper was definitelymy favorite character of the film. His nonchalance and awkwardness madefor an endearing and complex character. The whole crew did great withthe darker scenes. Those scenes, and the one on one interactions arewhere I feel the movie did it's best. Sam's descent from sanity issubtle and reminds me of Poe's story "The Black Cat". I also loved theending.
The music is very atmospheric and interspersed, and fit well with thecountry scenery.
I enjoyed the cinematography a great deal. There are many wide shots ofthe beautiful landscape around the California countryside, as well assome interesting close ups that work well for setting the creepyatmosphere. You couldn't ask for a better location for a dark movielike this.
The weak points in the movie were probably the interactions in the fullgroup scenes. It sometimes feels like people are waiting for theirlines. But that didn't really bother me that much, when the one on onescenes were so well done. Some of the writing is a little wonky attimes as well, but for the most part it feels like natural dialogue.
Overall I would recommend seeing this movie if you get a chance. It wasengaging and has a simple and well executed story.
(Also, what was up with that cat? Super creepy.)

I really enjoyed watching this film. It gave me characters that I loved(Eric) and loved to hate (Caitlyn). I went into the movie knowing thatit was more of physiological horror movie then a jump out bloody typeof horror movie. I really enjoyed how beautiful the area it was shotin, it added a lot to the feeling of the film. I really got into theconnection between Eric and Sam, I was completely immersed in theirlove story. The only thing that I can even be a critic about is thecharacter Caitlyn, I just couldn't relate to her in anyway, and felther character was the weakest. Can't wait to see what the OctoberPeople come out with next!
