Often times films are dumped on VOD or will be released the same timeas the theatrical release. Not always, but often it is a warning signthat these films are marginal, just plain bad or the distributor is notsure of its appeal. "Compulsion" falls under the just plain badcategory.
It's an empty film and what I mean by that is there's nothing muchgoing on and the little bit there is, the viewer could just not careless. I've always liked Heather Graham, but after "Boogie Nights",she's been in many so-so films. This is even worse than that. With atitle like "Compulsion", you would expect an involving thriller. Afterwatching this, I would have been happy with any type of movie as longas it's involving. Ms. Graham wears many different outfits all of whichshow off her best attributes but I do need more from my films. Myrecommendation is to stay far, far away from this film!

We watched it last night, and honestly, it wasn't that bad. I've seen alot worse. The premise was a bit weak, the acting was average, and thestory was transparent. It was almost like a characterture of what thereal movie would have been. It hard to explain, but everything was overdone, colours, costumes, scenery, acting, basically everything. That iswhat gave it a "pass" to be a mediocre movie. You can get away with it,because it's supposed to be campy.
I would recommend a rental if you want zombie out in front of the TVfor 88 minutes. It's mildly entertaining and the two female leads arepretty enough to keep you interested.
The production was fine. The quality edit, colour correction, lightingcorrection and so on was done well.
A lot of people worked hard to make this film, so I applaud them forit. Nice work, decent product and no time wasted in production.
It's not a compelling movie, but it's a movie. A simple, nice,different kind of film. Recommended when you want to do nothing.

I loved this movie! I don't usually post reviews, however, I just hadto weigh in on this one. The previous poster seemed so eager to dismissthis film, referring to it as "empty" and "nothing much going on". Thatsimply is not the case. I have to question whether this person evenlooked up from his tub of popcorn long enough to catch the actualmovie?! If you need special effects or puppets to be entertained thenyou should probably take the previous poster's advice and join him onthe couch for a re-run of "Crank Yankers". I found myself glued to thisfilm and it was very much a thriller...the truly intriguing kind. Wellworth seeing, regardless of the fact that there was no man in a hockeymask chasing Heather Graham down the street. Sorry, I guess that was a"spoiler"?? Oh wait--nope.
